In the Bible, there is a story of a rich man who had everything a man could dream of except for one thing: a contented heart. In desperation, he prayed to God that he might have that last thing. God answered his prayer by sending an angel to tell the man that he was not worthy to have all of those things, but that he would be given all of them if he would just change his heart. The man's heart was so hardened against God and so full of hatred toward him that it was impossible for him to change. He rejected the offer of grace and continued on in his sin.
